How'd That Happen?
Season |
Winner |
Notes |
Colleen Haskell |
Colleen made it to the Final Six in Borneo only because she was weak in challenges and not any good at strategy, as well as not being a threat for the Final Two, so the Tagi 4 picked off other potential threats like Greg, Gretchen and Jenna first. |
Amber was a member of the Ogakor 5 alliance but when Colby, Tina and Keith blindsided Jerri, their numbers advantage were taken down to 4-3. Since Amber was Jerri's ally, it caused her to distrust Colby, Tina and Keith. Amber had the chance to flip on the three that had turned their back on her but she instead decided to not do anything, which resulted in her getting voted out soon after, because she wanted to float along and not make a big move. |
Kim Johnson |
Kim J. was pulled along after the Merge, either because she was a number that Lex, Ethan and Tom needed, or because she was a lot weaker in challenges than the others. Because of this, she managed to get to the Final Four with Lex, Tom and Ethan. However, due to Jeff giving them a non-physical Immunity Challenge and then due to a mistake by Ethan and Lex's illness (it was later discovered he had several parasites in him), Kim J. managed to win the last two Immunities, floating her way right into the Final Two. |
Vecepia Towery Neleh Dennis |
It's sad that both members of the Final Two are "Floaters" but they really didn't do much, other than follow other people around. Neleh let Kathy and Paschal make her decisions for her and then went wherever they decided, while Vecepia, at first, voted with the Rotu alliance against Boston Rob and Sean, close allies of hers, to survive, and then followed Sean around like a lost puppy. Because of this, Vecepia and Neleh were the worst Finals of all time. |
Jan Gentry |
Jan showed no physical promise, no strategic play and she was annoying, so it really is a wonder why her Tribe kept her around as long as they did. |
Butch Lockley |
Every season there is usually one person that makes it pretty far but didn't do anything to get there. Butch really did nothing at all throughout the season, but followed orders and made no decisions for himself. |
Christa Hastie |
Christa really did nothing during the entire game, except for cling to Sandra. Then, when Sandra was done with her, she helped vote Christa out. |
Unlike most who win this Award, Alicia did have decent strategy and physical capabilities. However, compared to Boston Rob, it wasn't much. She did make it far because of Boston Rob's strategic prowess. However, the reason she won this award is because of her arrogance and short temper, one would think she would have been taken out sooner. |
Scout Cloud Lee |
Okay, Scout is probably the most useless player in Survivor history, and she made it to the Final Three! She was abysmal in physical challenges and she played little to no strategy. She only made it as far as she did because Twila dragged her along. |
Caryn Groedel |
Caryn made it way farther than anybody would have thought. The reason for that is that Caryn had a strong Tribe that never lost an Immunity. And the one time they went to Tribal, there was a much weaker player than her. After the Merge, she wasn't a threat, strategically or physically. |
Lydia Morris |
Lydia did nothing throughout the game. She was horrible in challenges, she made horrible moves and tried and failed at using strategy. How she made it to the Final Four is beyond me. |
Shane making it to the Final Five is simply shocking. Just based on how volatile he was. He was a loose cannon and his alliance knew that. Any smart alliance would have voted him out after he showed his true colors and replaced him just as quickly with someone else. Shane was a good player, but how he made it as far as he did is beyond me. |
Sundra Oakley |
Sundra was one of the most useless castaways in the season. She wasn't good physically and she did nothing strategically. Everyone else in the game stood out somewhat but she is easily forgettable. |
Cassandra Franklin |
Cassandra was horrible physically and strategically, riding the coat-tails of Earl, Yau Man and Dreams for the entire game. The only reason she stayed around as long as she did is because she was on Moto, who won the majority of the Immunity Challenges. |
Denise Martin |
Denise was definitely the "floater" of the season. She worked hard around camp, but she didn't do anything on the physical side and made no strategic moves, just being pulled along by Todd before being taken out before the Final Three, because she had no blood on her hands. |
Alexis Jones |
Alexis, the lowest ranking member of the Black Widow Brigade, was the floater. She had a knee injury so she was crap in the challenges and you never saw her put anything forth strategically. All she was was a number to help the BWB blindside Ozzy and Jason. However. a timely Hidden Immunity Idol play by Amanda saw Alexis on the Jury. |
Susie Smith |
Susie was really a useless player that managed to squeak out a few Immunity wins, which I'll chalk up to luck. She showed no initiative and I'm flabbergasted that she got any Jury votes. |
Erinn Lobdell |
One of the better players to win the award so far. It was surprising that Erinn made it so far, as she was on the bottom of her original Tribe from the start. Erinn managed to stick around and then after the Merge, she attached herself to J.T., Stephen and Taj from the other Tribe and they carried her to the Final Three. |
Mick Trimming |
When the game started, Mick was elected the leader of Foa Foa. By the Merge, Mick was cowering in a corner while Russell ran the game. It just so happened that Russell allowed Mick and Natalie to accompany him to the end, but all Mick was during the game was a vote. |
It's obvious that Russell's game plan from the beginning was to take two former winners to the end, because he believed that nobody would vote for a winner. However, the winners got all of the votes and Sandra won for the second time. |
This Award can sometimes be negative, as it can be referred to as a "Floater" award, but this time, it's definitely a positive. On Day 5, Holly was ready to quit the game and had an emotional breakdown. However, Jimmy Johnson talked her out of quitting and she soon became a strategic powerhouse, helping vote out powerhouse players like Marty and Brenda shortly after the Merge. |
Natalie Tenerelli |
Natalie held on so tightly to Rob, it's surprising that he didn't drown when he went into the ocean. She did no strategy throughout the game and just let Rob drag her to the end. |
Rick Nelson |
Most of the original Upolu alliance made it to the Hall of Fame, being Coach, Albert, Sophie and Brandon. Rick was the only member of that alliance that wasn't memorable, as he did not make any moves for himself and just followed Coach like a sheep. |
Christina Cha |
Christina was widely viewed, even among the other players. She was a dream to take to the end but ultimately, it was decided that she didn't deserve it. |
Abi-Maria Gomes |
Abi was obnoxious, rude and had absolutely no social skills, and it is amazing how she lasted as long as she did. |
Sherri Biethman |
Sherri is one of the most useful people in the history of Survivor. Post-Merge, she showed some promise but after the Merge, she became completely subservient to Phillip and later Cochran. |
Katie Collins |
After Aras was voted out, Katie, Tina and Vytas were definitely on the bottom. However, when Tina and Vytas were voted out, it seemed that Katie was done for. However, other targets within the majority alliance like Laura M. and Caleb were voted out before her. She would have stayed longer if not for a Rock Draw, which sent her to Redemption Island. |
Trish Hegarty |
Trish was a massive Floater, as she let Tony drag her through the mud all the way through the game. |
Missy Payne Baylor Wilson |
Missy and Baylor were the longest lasting couple in the game, despite both being really bad players. Their threat of being a twosome and their bad gameplay should have made them early outs after the Merge. However, they aligned with the right people, namely Jeremy, Jon and Natalie, which got them very far. |
Will Sims II |
Will didn't play much of a game and the only time he was in the spotlight was when he was being cruel to Shirin. He was pretty much dragged on by Carolyn and Rodney from there because he was such an easy goat for the Jury. |
Abi-Maria Gomes |
Once again, Abi was dragged through the game for just being an unlikable person. |
Joe Del Campo |
Unlike the norm, this isn't a negative award, it is just simply amazing that Joe made it as far as he did at age 71, also having won an individual Reward along the way. |
Sunday Burquest |
Sunday really didn't do anything in the game, really clinging to Bret and Chris for protection and after Chris was voted out, she kind of sunk into the background. |
Michaela had decent strategic presence but how she made it as far as she did is beyond me. She had a horrible attitude and never knew how to shut her mouth. |
JP Hilsabeck |
JP was a huge work horse and was amazing in the Tribal challenges. However, he had no social or strategic game to speak of, which makes it incredibly surprising that he lasted as long as he did, |
Angela Perkins |
Angela has to be the single worst player of Survivor that has ever lived. She is so bad that when Sebastian and Donathan had a seemingly fool-proof plan to blindside Domenick, Angela stupidly let it slip to Dom what was going on, allowing him to manipulate his way out of trouble. How she made it to the Final Four is beyond me, |
Angelina Keeley |
Angelina played an abysmal social game early on and in the end, and it's shocking to me that she made it as far as she did. Maybe she was so bad that nobody wanted to vote her out because she wouldn't get any votes in the end. |
Julie Rosenberg |
Julie was emotional, made stupid decisions and didn't really make the hard call. The only thing she did was win two Immunities, but was mainly dragged to the end by Ron and then Gavin. |
Dan Spilo |
With Dan's unwanted touching of multiple women during the game, he still lasted until the Final Six before he was forced out of the game by the producers. |
Michele got a lot of flack for winning her last season, as people didn't think she deserved to win over Aubry and Tai, two great players, while she was seen as a bit of a floater. This season, she played much of the same game, using stronger players to keep herself in the game. Her status as an easy win in the Final Three was probably the reason that she made it as far as she did. |
