Survivor: Worlds Apart
Carolyn started off on the Masaya (White Collar) tribe. After Joaquin Souberbielle and So Kim got a clue for the Hidden Immunity Idol they made up a lie which Carolyn and the other white collars did not believe. She looked for the idol after seeing Joaquin and So looking for it, and she found the idol without clues. After losing the Immunity Challenge Carolyn was targeted by So for her age and not contributing in crucial parts of the challenge and she targeted So. Then Carolyn told Tyler Fredrickson that she had the idol. At Tribal Council, Tyler, Max Dawson, and Shirin Oskooi sided with Carolyn and So was blindsided in a 4-2 vote with So and Joaquin voting for Carolyn. Masaya then won the next three Immunity Challenges keeping them safe from Tribal Council.
On Day 12, the Masaya tribe dissolved and she, Shirin, and Max joined the Nagarote tribe while Tyler and Joaquin joined the Escameca tribe. On Day 14, the new Nagarote tribe lost immunity. Both Shirin and Max targeted Will Sims II for his weakness in the challenge and told Carolyn to vote for Will, but she betrayed her former allies and voted against Max. At Tribal Council, Max was blindsided.
On Day 17, the tribes merged. Both she and Will were approached by former Blue Collar Todney Lavoie, Jr. to form an alliance with him and former Blue collar Kelly Remington. At the Immunity Challenge, Joe Anglim outlasted Carolyn to win individual immunity. After the challenge, both Carolyn and Tyler entertained offers from the Blue collar alliance and no collar alliance, so they became the swing votes. At Tribal Council they sided with the Blue Collars and targeted Jenn Brown but she played her Hidden Immunity Idol negating the seven votes cast against her blindsiding Kelly in a 4-1-0 vote. On Day 22, the alliance voted against Hali Ford and Hali was blindsided in a 7-4 vote. On Day 24 Joe was unable to win immunity. However, when Jenn asked to be voted out Carolyn voted for her, but Joe was eliminated when Mike used Shirin's vote to get rid of Joe.
The next day Rodney told Carolyn, Will, and Tyler to get rid of Mike but he overheard them. At the Survivor Auction, everybody bought letters for $20 at Shirin's suggestion and Carolyn, Mike, and Dan Foley agreed to save the rest for an advantage. However, Mike almost reigned on the deal angering Carolyn and Dan with Carolyn wanting to return her letter back, but Mike then changed his mind. Dan won the advantage. After the Auction, Mike outed Rodney, but Carolyn and the others turned on him. However, Mike won immunity on Day 27 and Jenn was eliminated at Tribal Council. Both Carolyn and Mike won immunity on Day 29. After the challenge Tyler found out that Dan's advantage was an extra vote and he told Carolyn which shocked her. At Tribal Council, Shirin was eliminated.
On Day 30, the team of Carolyn, Mike, and Sierra won reward and none of them gave it up to Rodney which made him mad because it was his birthday. Carolyn won immunity again on Day 32. However, due to Mike having the Hidden Immunity Idol the majority alliance of six had to turn on each other. Tyler told Carolyn that he wanted to get rid of Dan because of his extra vote advantage but Carolyn thought of betraying Tyler because he was a jury threat. At Tribal Council, Mike played his idol negating the four votes cast against him; Carolyn and Sierra Dawn Thomas joined Mike in voting against Tyler and he was blindsided in a 3-0 vote. That night Carolyn told Mike about Dan's advantage and they agreed that they should get rid of Dan next. However, in a confessional Carolyn stated that if Mike does not win immunity he will be eliminated. After Mike won immunity on Day 35, Carolyn decided to get rid of Dan but the rest of her alliance was gunning for her. At Tribal Council, Dan used his Extra Vote advantage to throw two votes on Carolyn, and this caused her to play her idol which negated the five votes cast against her; both she and Mike voted for Dan, so Dan was blindsided in a 2-0 vote.
On Day 36, the final five got to see their loved ones. Carolyn met her husband Joel. After Mike won immunity on Day 37, herself, Sierra and Mike decided to get rid of Rodney. However, at Tribal Council, when Sierra accidentally stated that she was a threat, the others voted against her and Sierra was blindsided in a 4-1 vote. Mike won the Final Immunity Challenge. After the challenge, Mike told Carolyn that the vote would be a tie between her and Rodney, and there will have to be a fire making tiebreaker, and then he prepared her for the challenge. At Tribal Council, both she and Rodney tied with two votes each which resulted in the firemaking tiebreaker After an hour, Carolyn emerged victorious and made it to the end along with Mike and Will.
At the Final Tribal Council, Tyler asked Carolyn why she betrayed him, and Shirin compared her to a stingray. In the end, Carolyn became the co-runner up of the season (along with Will) losing to Mike in a 6-1-1 vote, only receiving Sierra's vote to win.
At the live Reunion Show, Carolyn stated she was surprised she didn't get more jury votes. She was featured as one of the 32 candidates eligible to compete in Survivor: Cambodia. However, she did not receive enough votes to get on.
