Kim caught the attention of Alicia Rosa during the trek to the girl's camp because she posed as a strong player, which forged her into Alicia's alliance, along with Chelsea Meissner, Kat Edorsson, and Sabrina Thompson. Kim's levelheadedness was proven when she shunned Manono member Colton Cumbie with poise and composure, despite Cumbie's constant visits to their side of camp as it started to annoy her tribe and viewed his affinity for them as a camouflaged act of sabotage. After the evacuation of tribemate Kourtney Moon, the alliance stood strong and eliminated Salani's oldest member, Nina Acosta. Kim, and the rest of the Salani tribe then prospered, winning three consecutive challenges, and received free immunity when the Manono tribe decided to go to Tribal Council after winning the Day 11 Immunity Challenge.
Kim remained a Salani member after the Day 12 Tribal Switch, where she formed a secondary alliance with newcomers Jay Byars, Michael Jefferson, and Troyzan Robertson, where she found herself in the leadership position. Kim increased her power by obtaining a Hidden Immunity Idol, which she disclosed to her closest ally, Chelsea. The forged alliance, however, did not need to take action, as the new Salani demolished the new Manono in subsequent challenges, merging with them with a 7-5 discrepancy, but the original members (men and women) remained 6-6.
The two revisions of the tribes found Kim working with two pacts, the all-girl original Salani alliance (Alicia's regrouped alliance with former outsider Christina Cha being adopted to the group) and the new Salani alliance. After Kim manipulated Jay and Troyzan to oust Jonas Otsuji and cannibalize new Salani alliance member Michael, she eventually revealed her master plan—blindside Jay and Troyzan to pave the way for an all-girl endgame. The plan worked, and the men took the fall in subsequent Tribal Councils, though one of her longtime allies, Kat, was disposed of by Kim after the latter's controversial choice of who to bring with her after winning a Reward Challenge and Kat giving Kim a bad attitude after Kim won Immunity. Throughout the merge, Kim collectively won four of the last five Immunity Challenges, and, with a Hidden Immunity Idol in her possession, Kim was essentially invincible. Following her victory at the final two Immunity Challenges, and the eliminations of Alicia and Christina, Kim found herself in the final three with her closest friends, Chelsea and Sabrina. Kim's quiet yet destructive strategy, and avoiding the target despite how strong she appeared in the merge, earned the respect and votes of seven of nine Jury members, crowning her as the 24th Sole Survivor.
At the live Reunion Show, Kim won an additional $100,000 for winning the Fan Favorite Award.

Survivor: Winners at War
Kim was originally on the Dakal Tribe, where she formed an alliance with Tyson Apostol and Amber Mariano, known as the Poker Alliance. They were also joined by two other alliances, the No Connections Alliance between Yul Kwon, Wendell Holland, Nick Wilson and Sophie Clarke, and the alliance of Sandra Diaz-Twine, Tony Vlachos and Sarah Lacina. Tyson and Kim wanted to vote out one of the No Connections Alliance, since they rthought that the lower threats would pick off the big threats first. However, Sandra, Tony and Sarah didn't go along with their plan, as they were afraid of the Poker Alliance, where Kim, Tyson, Jeremy Collins and Rob Mariano, during a Poker game years before, had said that if they were on the island together, they would be the power alliance. This caused mistrust, despite Tyson and Kim telling them that there is no Poker Alliance. However, seeing that it was no use, both Tyson and Kim threw Amber under the bus and helped the others vote Amber out.
After losing Immunity again, Tyson wanted to go after Nick, once again saying that the No Connections Alliance are going to pick them off. This time, Sandra and Tony appeared to listen, thinking over their options. However, Sandra had a grudge against Tyson and decided to vote him out, with Kim joining them as Tyson was voted out.
There was then a Tribal Switch that saw Kim, Sandra and Tony in the majority against Jeremy and Denise Stapley. After losing Immunity, the plan was for the group to vote Denise out and Kim was going along with them, despite feeling on the outs before. However, at Tribal, Denise played a Hidden Immunity Idol on herself and then played a Hidden Immunity Idol on Jeremy and used her one vote to blindside Sandra.
The Tribes would then Merge, and Kim joined Tyson (who had made his way back from Edge of Extinction), as well as Tony, Ben, Jeremy and others in the majority alliance, with Wendell, Nick, Michele Fitzgerald and Adam Klein seemingly on the outs. Jeremy went around to everybody and wanted Nick out and everybody agreed. However, Tyson and Ben later decided that they would prefer to vote out Wendell, since he is more of a threat going forward, so it was Wendell who was voted out.
Kim would later win individual Immunity, just as things would go a little crazy. Adam went around wanting Sarah out, in order to break up Sarah and Sophie, so the majority alliance had to change their target from Nick to Adam, in order to save one of their own. This would result in Adam being voted out.
The battle lines would later be drawn as the previous majority split into two groups, each pulling someone from the bottom in. On one side was Kim, Tyson, Jeremy, Michele and Denise. On the other side was Ben, Nick, Tony, Sarah and Sophie. Kim's alliance wanted to get Sophie out, and Kim had a Hidden Immunity Idol, but didn't know who to play it for. At Tribal Council, convinced it was him who was going, Jeremy used his Safety Without Power advantage, leaving Tribal but not getting a vote, which left Kim's alliance down a number. Sarah then played her Steal A Vote advantage to take Denise's vote, crippling Kim's alliance even more. In a last ditch effort, Kim played her Idol for Denise, but it was Tyson who was voted out.
After Tribal, Kim knew she was in a bad place, so her and Denise decided to join the majority alliance in voting out Jeremy. The plan was to split the votes betweeb Jeremy and Michele to ultimately get Jeremy out. However, they told Jeremy and Michele, who still thought they were with them, that they were joining them to vote out Ben, along with Tony, who was pretending to be with them. However, things flipped when Tony decided to really be with them. Tony pulled Nick over to Jeremy and Michele, giving them 4 and even though there 9 people still in the game at that point, they had the majority because of the others splitting the votes, allowing them to blindside Sophie.
Kim and Denise were once again okay to vote out Jeremy, like was the plan. Even Michele decided to abandon Jeremy, knowing that he was a sinking ship. However, there was a plan brewing on the down low. Jeremy, Tony and Nick were still working together from the last Tribal and this time they were targeting Kim, who everybody saw a sure thing if she made it to the end. Tony pulled in his closest ally Sarah and they managed to convince Ben to put aside his feelings about Jeremy and they banned together to vote out Kim, sending her to the Edge of Extinction.
Kim spent some time on the Edge but was unable to win her way back into the game and was eventually eliminated as a member of the Jury.
